What's the difference?
Both routes lead to the same result: custom-made frames, expertly installed. The path there differs considerably.
Existing home
Renovation & replacement
- We measure all frames exactly on-site at your home.
- The old frames are removed and disposed of neatly.
- Where needed we use sub-frames to align the new dimensions with the existing reveal.
- Interior and exterior finishing (sealant, trim) is included in the installation as standard.
- You can simply keep living in your home: installation usually takes one to two days.
- You may qualify for ISDE subsidy on insulating glazing.
- The standard VAT rate applies for an existing, private home.
New situation
New build & extensions
- We work from architectural drawings and the frame schedule from the architect or contractor.
- Connection details (cavity, insulation, water barrier) are agreed on technically in advance.
- Planning is coordinated with the contractor, so frames are installed at the right stage of construction.
- Lead times are longer than for renovation, because frames are custom-produced for the new build.
- ISDE subsidy does not apply to new build; it only applies to existing homes.
